THE PILL
A statement coopted by the Alt-Right, "taking the pill" originated from the 1999 film The Matrix, which has been labeled as a Trans Allegory by the Wachowski sisters themselves. We can choose to live in subordination or we can rebel. This literary magazine is dedicated to the principles of Protest, Imagination, Liberation, and Love. When we say Protest, we mean the fight against fascism, suppression, opression, censorship, and authoritarianism; we mean the first amendment right to express dissent. When we say Imagination, we mean imagining a world outside of capitalism, moving towards class-consciousness, and living beyond the gender binary. When we say Liberation, we mean an end to genocide and exploitation for all enslaved, erased, attacked, and oppressed groups. When we say Love, we mean empathy and compassion for humanity. Put simply: NO TRANSPHOBIA, RACISM, SEXISM, HOMOPHOBIA, BIGOTRY OF ANY KIND. No cops, no Nazis, no MAGA. Submissions are open to any POETS who subscribe to our priniciples, rooted in anti-capitalism, anti-colonialism, and anti-fascism. (POETRY SUBMISSIONS ONLY)
